ASA Instructor Certification is currently in planning, but we also know that there are many knowledgeable sidesaddle instructors who have already passed one or more sidesaddle instructors examinations. Rather than require them to go through the trouble and possible expense of repeating such certification, ASA is implementing a program whereby instructors may transfer any past sidesaddle instructor certification to the ASA Instructors List.

ASA requirements for transfer certification are as follows:

• 1. Instructor must be a current full member of ASA and at least one affiliate regional organization (i.e., individual ASA members are not eligible).
• 2. The instructor must fill out the application form for ASA Transfer Instructor Certification, and forward it to the Chairman of the Instructor Committee.
• 3. Application must be accompanied by a copy of appropriate certification as a sidesaddle instructor with any of the following organizations: ARIA, SSA, WSFI, or ISSO. (Other organizations may be added to this list. If sidesaddle instructor certification is held with another organization, please include information [in English] as to that organization's requirements and conditions of exam.) At present time, such certification need not be current, but we must have proof of such certification.
• 4. A one-time transfer certification fee of [$25] must be included with application. If for any reason the transfer application is not accepted, this transfer fee will be returned.

• Upon ASA acceptance of an instructor's transfer certification, s/he will be considered an ASA Sidesaddle Instructor, and will be so listed in our list of sidesaddle instructors.
• Once a full ASA instructor certification program is implemented, all updated requirements needed from ASA-certified instructors will also be needed from ASA transfer-certified instructors. Transfer-certified instructors shall not be asked for anything that regularly certified instructors are not required to have.
• Once ASA has established requirements for instructor levels, transfer-certified ASA instructors will be asked for further information to determine at which level they will be placed.
